BUILDING ALLOTMENTS

. At the present time splendid building allotments can be secured in Rotorua at very low prices, and on very .attractive terms. That this will not always apply is indicated by the fact that the values in properties have shown a'steady rise during the last few years and with the extension ' of borough facilities, and the stimulated demand as more people from other parts of New Zealand and over-seas choose Rotorua as a place of retirement, it is almost certain that the rise will be very steep in a comparatively few" years. iMcDowell and Co., Ltd., report that there is an ever-increasing demand for suitable homes for retired people with moderate means who would like to settle in Rotorua; in addition the rapidly accelerating settlement of the nearby farm lands is causing a steady increase in the business community, thus attracting more residents to the borough. This is borne out by the fact that no borough in New Zealand has grown to the extent that Rotorua has during the past few yeas. In a period of ten years the population has more than doubled. An investment made now in Rotorua land and buildings will have a greatly enhanced value as time goes on, and the steadily increasing population must inevitably cause prices of suitable allotments to harden. ;
