FATHER MAY THRASH SON

COLOGNE COURT RULING A father has a right to thrash his disobedient son, even if the youth is no longer a child in the accepted sense. This was the ruling of the Appeal Court in Cologne, Germany, in acquitting a man who whipped his 19year old son with a walking stick. A lower court had sentenced him to two week's imprisonment for cruelty. Evidence showed that the. man had whipped his son and daughter all their lives. Because the youth would not give up a companion, the father thrashed hipi so vigorously that the son's cries aroused the neighbours.
