Hector Janies McDohald pleaded guilty in the MagiStrate's Court yesterday, before justices, to a charge of vagrancy, twO charges of theft at Elthaih.in March, 1933, tliree charges of obtaining credit bjr fraild at Wanganui in Juiie, and to a charge bf being an incortigible rogue in that he escaped from the Morrillsville lockup tvhile in lawful custody. Aceused was sentenced to two mottths' iiiiprisonment oil the charge of vagfancy, to one inohth on each of tke two theft charges and to two ftionths' imprisoiiment on each of the three charges of fraiid, the senteii'ces to be cuinulative. C)n the charge of escaping from dustody accused was sentenced to 12 InOnths' reformative treatment, to be served at the expiration of the 10 ihonths' imprisonment.. It was stated that the accused had beeri travelling. throughodt tke N-orth Isldttd, insefting advertisements in the newspapers for a housekeeper, ahd poSing as a wealthY sheepf armer. From the replies he i-peeived he would get in toueh with worhen seeking the position and, in manY cases, obtained money froni them.
