monument to inventor. A monument to the memory of Carl Benz, the inventox* of the motor car, was unveiled at Mannheim (Germany) recently. It takes the form of a huge stone slab, on one side of which is a relief of Carl Benz with his first motor car and relief of a inodern motor car. Motorists from all parts of Germany and the adjacent countries journeyed to Mannheim for the ceremonv.
