Special iRace Excursion i • In eonnection with' the Rotorua Hunt Club's totalisator race meeting on July 29, the Railway Department has arranged a speoial week-end excursion at low rates. The train will leave Auckland at 5.22 p.m. on Eriday, July 28, arriving at Rotorua at 11 p.m. On Sunday, July 30, it leaves Rotorua at 4.30 p.m. arriving Auckland at 9.5-5 p.m. The fares are, , r Auckland, return, first-class, 20/-; second-class, 15/-; Hamilton return, first-class,. 11/-; second-class, 8/-. Unexplained Accident J Leaving a Wanganui Teehnical College night class punctually at 9 o'elock, a girl student started on her bieycle to ride a mile to her home. At 10 o'clock she was brought to the door by a motorist, wh'o had fonnd ■her 'hadly cut and ibruised and with the front of her bieycle wheel smashed. She had absolutely no remembrance of how the accident happened. Pi-esentation to Constable A happy funetion which took place at the Rotorua Police Station on Saturday was a presentation made to Constable A. Shilton who was recently married. In making the presentation on behalf of himself and the staff Senior-Sergeant J. Carroll briefly congratulated Constable Shilton on his marriage arid expressed the hope that the young couple would have many years of prosperity and happiness. Plane Overhauled During the last week the Rotorua Airways monoplane was subjected to ' a thorough overhaul, on the completion of which a trial flight at various altitudes showed Hie motors to be functioning perfectly. Two Arrests During the week-end two arrests were made by the Rotorua police., one case being that of a man on a charge of drunkenness and the other on a charge of obscene language and drunkenness. Both will appear at the Magistrate's Court this morning. Representative Hockey The Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Association has been advised by the Kerepehi Association that its team will visit Rotorua next Saturday, a match having been arranged against the local representative team. Last season Kerepehi played a drawn game with a Rotorua B team. Baby Burned Shortly after mid-day yesterday a sixteen-months old child, Gregg Tekeni, whose parents reside at Ohinemutu, was admitted to King George V. Hospital suffering from burns about the body. The child's condition was reported by the hospital authorities last evening as satisfactory.
