mr. w. galbraith - INTEREST IN GEYSER HOTEL SHORTLY TO BE RELINQUISHED . SUCCESSFUL MANAGERSHIP After seven years successful management of the Geyser Hotel, Whakarewarewa, during which time he has gained much popularity and made many valuable friendships throughout the Dominion and overseas by his personality and concern for the comfort >of his guests, Mr. W. Ga'lbraith has disposed of his interest in the hotel to Mr. G. Henderson of Auckland. During his 17 years residence in Rotorua, Mr. iGalbraith has been a most prominent figure in the progress of the town and has displayed keen interest in its various organisations and movements. For ten years until the la.st elections when he refused nomination, he was a member of the Rotorua Borough Council and prior to entering the hotel business was a Justice of the Peace and a member of the Licensing Committee. He has also been a member of the Rotorua Fire Board, Chamber of Commerce and the Rotorua Racing Club executive, in addition to many vice-presidencies of various sporting and other clubs. In relinquishing his present interests in the Geyser Hotel, Mr. Gal- ■ braith told a "Post" representativc yesterday that he did not also intend to sever his connection with the town, and that after a long anticipated vacation he would probably concentrate his attention upon his many other interests in Rotorua. Mr. G. Henderson has had many years of experience in the hotel business, having held the managership of the Grand Hotel, Auckland, and later, the Criterion Hotel, New Plymouth, in addition to a time spent in Tauranga. It is probable that the transfer of the Geyser Hotel will be effected on August 1.
