As the London to Brighton express was tearing- along at 60 'miles an hour someone pulled the communication cord and the train stopped. Hurrying to the sec-. ond class carriage indicated the guard found it contained only two passengers, a middle-aged woman and a man smoking a pipe. "What's wrong here"? sharply demanded the guard. Pointing indignantly to her fellow passenger the woman said: "This man insists on smoking and 1 object." Well," replied the guard, "it's a smoking carriage. I'll have to take your name and address, ma'am. Stopping an express train without sufiicient cause is a serious matter. Shouldn't wonder you' 11 find it come expensive." It did! in New Zealand under similar circumstances. But then most men in this country smoke toasted tobacco and not even the most faddy person can object to that it's so pure, sweet and fragrant.
