TRACK WORK
(Notes
INTERESTINlG GAULOPS IN PREPARATION FOR JULY 29 PROMISING FORM
by "Canard.")
There was some interesting track work on the Arawa Park course yes- • terday morning when a number of local horses were worked in preparaion for the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty ; Hunt Club's race meeting on July 29. The first to show up was Mrs. F. Stanier's Kilstar, a five-year-old gelding by Kilbroney-Martifors, who _was sent a round at easy pace. He is a big upstanding gelding showing a lot of quality, but has only been up about three weeks. So far he is a maiden and though he has had a good bit o± experience under silk, has not ye broken his status. Later Kilstar and Creina s Kmg both under big weights went five furlongs findshing on terms in 1.15. Neither was bustled in the early stages but came home well. . Creina's King, who looks a bit burly has made a good recovery from his injuries when he spread himself and when he has had a bit more work into him will be equal to taking on company. _ I Golden England and Morley were produced next and after a pipe-open-ing round went a nice six furlongs m 1.26. Golden England who has been in work at his owner's place (Mr. Managh) is looking very fit - and is well on his toes. At the hunti he is iumping with freedom. Morley is one of the fittest h'orses iin the district and is a ball of muscle. When findshing yesterday morning he would not have blown out a candle and he should be very hard in future engagements. . Wako King is probably bemg brought in to contest future events. Kilstar will contest the Maiden Steeples and the Ladies Bracelet at the Hunt meeting. He shows signs of jumping well and being a Kilbroney should stay. Golden England will compete m two events and should make his presence felt. He will probably be seen out in the Hurdles and Bracelet. Morley is due to make his next appearance at the Ellerslie Relief meeting and later probably at Arawa Park. •Gigantic who is held in lease by N. Hastings from hid Opotiki owners is set down to appear at the Hunt meetiing. He is now close to workmg out 1 his status for hunt events. ^ _ I Th'e Arawa Park track is m good 1 order but a rolling after rain would do it no harm.
