SEARCH 'PLANE WRECKED
STRIKES A TREE (Rec. 7.55 p.m.) Melbourne, July 2. A monoplane, piloted hy Alex Darlow and carryirig two passengers at d'awn to-day, began a search for the riiissittg Christina Fraser. The machine took ofF from the Sale aerodrpme but when travelling at' approximately 100 miles an hoiir struck a tree dqfifig a dense fog. Part of the under carriage of the plarie was torn off and fell to earth but the body hurtled on for another 100 yards where it crashed. The three occupants, suffering only from shock and abrasions, crawled out of the wreckage.
