FOR EVENING WEAR
LONG COATS AGAIN. The introduction of the longer evening coat is the most revolutionary change in the mode this winter. This is a distinct change from the evening jackets of th© last few seasons, which gradUally became shorter and shorter, until they were no more than boleros. These little bolero jackets and coatees wiill not be discarded during th© com- ■ ing season, but instead of being of velvet or brocade, as in former years, they will be made of the same material as the frock itself and thus,_form part of the ensemble, which will be covered by the long1 evening wrap. Velvet Wdl be predominant for evenwear this season and will be greatly ; used for both coats and dresses. The; : longj evening wrap, lavishly trimmed I with fur, and with novelty sleeves | and a broad-shouldered eff ect given by ; j a cape or tippet, will be the favourite style, although many ;of the coats are devoid of fur and rely on intri- ' cate and clever cuttin^ foT effect.
