YOUNG MAN FOUND SHOT | WITH, GUJNT BESIDE i BODY i OPEN VERDICT RETURNED

C'aihhridge, Tuesday. A distfessing fatality occurred at Matangi yestefday when a young man, Mr. Owdh Jaiiies Trownson, aged 21 years ' wa-^ found dead at the home f hi's pardttts, Mr.' alid Mrs. W. J. Trqw'hiscin, with 'a pea rifle wound in his 'Wdy . ' ! At ari iri'queSt held to-day before the corbrier, Mr. , F. H. Levien, S.M., j the eyiderice of the imother went to "sh'oW thait th,ei deceased was of a cheerful disposition and had no wprries. At 10.30 a.m. the previous day she heard a thud in her son'is ropm tout did not investigate until she later also heard a groan. On examination ■she discovered her sori oii the floor with a .22 pea rifle lying beside him. On beinig called Dr. Milrdy pronounced life extinet. She knew no reason why h'er son should end his life. The coroner returned an open verdict that death was due to shock following a bullet wound.
