The Govnrnment meteorolopTst laaued the following weather report and forecast lest night: — . General situation: An anti-cyclone extends over the northern Tasman Sea on to northern New Zealand, while a slight depression is crossing the southern Tasman Sea. Forecast for winds: Light to moderate and variable; westerlies to south westerlies prevailing. Weather: Mainl fair to cloudy with misty rain . and slight showers at times, more especially on the coast. Fogs on parts of the east coast and in the Cook Strait area. Temperatures cooler. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometar, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist deparitment for the 24 hour3 ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.886ins. Thermometer (max.) 60.8deg. Thermometer (min.) 47.2deg. Thermometer (mi'n on grass) 42.0deg. Rainfall 0.06ins. Bright Sunshine 3.4hrs. •
