The Gov«rnment meteoroiofrtst lasued the following weather report and forecast laet night: — General situation: A rather deep cyclone was loc'ated this morning over the centre of the Tasman Sea and is moving on to the Dominion. Forecast: Winds, north-east to ortherly, moderate mainly but strong to gale force in parts especially in the north. ChangTng later in the south to southerly and in the north to westeriy. Weather: Overcast and in places misty, with general rain probable. Heavy rain probable in many parts, | especially in the North Island. Temperatures mild, but becoming colder I again in the south. i Following are the barometer, maxlmum .and minimum thermomctsr, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings recorded at the Governmeht Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.191ins. Thermometer (max.) 58.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 34.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 25.0deg. Rainfall Nji Bright Sunshine 6.7hrs.
