As an example of the desperation to which night raids are driving Socialists occurred when six storm troopers entered the house of a trade union leader, Johann Schausse, and his spn Anton, with a desperate idea of protecting his patents, fired down the stairs, killing two storm troopers. Anton then rushed from the house and emptied the revolver at the driver of the storm, troopers' ear, but killed his brother-in-law, who was being detained in the car. Anton was later hiunted dpwn and arrested. His mother was also arrested. Later his father was found hanged.
