SOCIAL EVENING

Another of the popular card evenings and dances given by St. Mary's Church, was held /in the Lyric Hall on Wednesday. There was an exeeptdonally large attendanee and a very jolly evening was spent. Mr. J. Bird acted as M.C. Winners'of Monte Carlos were Miss M. Day" and Mr. T. Selwyn; Miss Neal (Putaruru) and Mr. J. Connors; Miss Betty Emerson (Matawai) and Mr. T. Keller. The winners of the progressive 500 were Miss Mokomoko and Mr. M. Hennessey while consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs. C. Allen and Mr. A. Hartley.
