FURTHER WAR PREPARATIONS OBSERVED ON FRONTIER

Rec. June 22, 10 p.m. Shanghai, June 22. Prominende is given to the latest Soviet demand for the re-opening of the Chinese Eastern Railway throughtrafffc, which was suspended as the result of the dispute over the confiscation of rolling stock which is at present retained in Siberia. A Harbin message states that large Soviet forces, including tanks and gas units, are concentrated in the vicinity of Brabasm and Lake Hingkaihu. It is also stated that the Soviet is evacuating and deporting to Western Siberia, all citizens on the. frontier zone, whose ^eliability is somewhat doubtful.
