Tfie Govfrnment meteorolofpst losued the following weather report and forecast last nig-ht: — General situation: The northern cyclone has passed away .eastward. • An anti-cyclone covers the central Tasman and the South Island, but is losing intensity. A slight depression is passi.ng in the south. Forecast: Wi'nds light to moderate, 1 but freshening to strong in parts of the northern and far southern districts, southerly to south-easterly prevailing north of Westport and KaN koura, and westerly in the south. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts, cloudy on the east coast and south of Edst Cape, with drizzling rain and fog in places. Showers in the far south. Temperatures cold, many frosts. Following are the barometcrr maxlmum and minimum thermomt'isr, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings reoorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tdurist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
