FRANKTON MARKET STILL VERY FIRM FOR SHEEP

Hamilton, W ednesday. The Fanners' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Frankton sale yesterday we had an average yarding of fat sheep. Wethers were again yarded in average numbers, the market remaining very firm at last week's rates. A truck on account of Mr. A. H. E. Bukowsky averaged 20s. There was a .smaller yarding of ewes and these also remained very firm at l'ate rates. There was an exceptionally heavy yarding of fat lambs with export buyers operabing very freely, and quotations showed a sharp and1 decided rise. Cattle. — There was a heavier entry of ox beef than usual with the market •slightly easier. Cow and heifer beef of j good quality was penned in larige numbers, and these showed an easing , tendency, second quality boner cows [ remaining unchanged. Pigs: — An average yarding of fat pigs sold a.t late ruling rates. The quality of the offering was not up to the usual standard. Quotations. Heavy prime wethers, 19s ld to 20s 9d; medium fat wethers, 16s 6d to 18s, lighter 13s to 14s 3d; prime maiden ewes 16s 9d to 18s 3d; heavy fat ewes 13s to 14s 6d; lighter j 9s 6d to 11s, killable ewes 6s 9d to 7s 8d; prime fat lambs 18s to 19s 3d; medium fat lambs 15s to 16s 8d; lighter ils 6d to 13s 6d. Cattle: Medium fat steers £5 7s 6d to £5 15s, lighter £3 14s to £4 16s, heavy fat cows £3 12s to £3 17s 6d; medium fat cows and heifer s £3: 3 s to £3 7s 6d; lighter £2 5s to £2 15s; second quality cows £2 3s to £2 10s; killable cows £1 14s to £l 19 s; heavy boner cows £1 6s to £1 12s, lighter 15s to £1 2s; vealers £1 to £1 12s. Pigs : Heavy baconers £2 2s to £2 8s; medium baconers 36s to £2; light £1 10s to £1 15s; heavy porkers £1 4s to £1 8s; lighter 19s to £1 2s; unfinished 16s to 18s, large store pigs 17s to £1, slips 12s to 15s, weaners 8s 6d to 11s 6d.
