BOROUGH ESTIMATES
non-production causes complaint from councillor At last night's meeting of the Borough Council Cr. F. Goodson entered a protest that the estimates had not been hrought down before the council as yet. He thought that the retiring committees should have hrought down the estimates. He thought it ridiculous that the committees did not known what they had to spend. The mayor said that most of the committees had done so but one or two committees had not and consequently the Finance Committee had not been able to hring down the estimates. The Works Committee's estimates had heen f ormulated. CrJ Goodson: Then we shall de--finitely have the estimates at next meeting? The Mayor: Yes. Cr. Banks asked if the Publicity Committee's estimates were ready, Cr. Bayfeild : No. The mayor pointed out that the expepditure of that committee was limited. v ( Cr. Coleman said that the Finance Committee could not hring down estimates until it got them from the other committees, He was just as anxious to see the estimates as anyone. , ^ Cr. Goodson : I think those committees which have -not. hrought down their estimates should: be cehsured. It's ridiculous trying to carry on as we are.
