PAGEANTRY GREETS ARRIYAL IN LONDON OtF KING OF IRAQ THE GUARDS PARTICIPATE
(Rec. June 21.) Rugby, June 20. King Feisal of Iraq was given a notable reception when he reached Englaiid to-day. As his stefamer, escorted by four of Britaiin's fastest destrioyers and nine aeroplanes, entered Dover Harbour a Royal salute of 21 guris, was fired. The Duke of York with the Iraq Minister, went aboard an'd greeted the • King, and accompanied him to ia. special train on which he proceeded to . London. Awaiting them at Victoria Station were, the King, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Gloucester, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald a'nd other members of the Cabinet, headsi of serviees, 'and many other distinguished people, who wore uniform or levee dress. The Grenadier Guards with the King's CoJour, formed the guard of honour, and helped to create an impression of pagaantry, which has been unequalled in London for some time. There was a cordial greeting between the two Kings. A procession of carriages in th'e first of which sat the two Kings, the. Prince of Wales and the Duke of York, proceeded to Buckingham Palace. Large crowds heartily cheered the royal visitor. At Buckingham Palace, where King Feisal ds to stay with Their Majesties until Thursday, he will receive the heads of the diplomatic corps on Wednesday, He will attend a luncheon in his honour at the Guildhall, whei'e the Lord Mayor will present him with an address, and he will dine at the Foreign Office, where Sir John Simon will act as host on behalf of the Government. After the termination of the Royal visitor' s stay at Buckingham Palace, on Thursday he will go to Aldershot. Also he will attend the Royal Air Force Pageant to he held a.t Hendop next Saturday. Before proceeding to , Scotland he will visit Windsor Castle on Sunday an'd early in July he will embark on the battle cruiser Renown and proceed to sea to witness fleet exercises. Four destroyers left iPortsmouth to-day to escort the Maid of Orleans in which King Feisal will travel from Ostend to Dover. King George. and Queen Mary returned to Buckingham Palace to-day from' Windsor Castle.
