A slight low pressure wave is passing in the far south. Forecast:- Winds southerly to easterly, north of Westport and Kaikoura strong to gale force in parts of the far north and north-east, elsewhere moderate,~But increasing and variabie south of Westport and Kaikoura, with 'northerly to westerly winds predominating. Weather: Cloudy to overcast in the east and northern districts of the North Island, rain north of Auckland and Napier, and extending south, more especially on the east coast, some heavy falls between Hawkes Bay and the Bay of Ple'nty.
