MAJESTIC THEATRE
TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT. When >a man^ in order to conviince his mother-in-law that he was in a different place from where she saw him, - impersonates a non-existent double, aided * and abetted by his friend'^ valet — a one-time actor — j trouble is sure to be in the brewing, and in "His Wif e's Mother," th'e hilardous farce whiich is now at the Majestic Theatre, the trouble is "double" trouble for Henry Hagen. The mother-in-law ds so hard to convince that the valet, Jay — by name and nature, is forced to impersonate a fiery old colonel, a German crook and an American detective, not to mention Henry's father-in-law, who is overcome by "doubles".of a different sort. ■ A really great film "find" — well ■ known on th'e legitimate and variety istage — Gus McNaughton— stars in this film as the impeccable Joy — his disguises heing well-ndgh impregnable — a no mean feat on the screen. Marion Dawson in th'e title role contrihutes largely to the fun with Jimmy Godden as her "better" half, whil'e! Molly Lamont, Jerry Ver.no, Renee Gadd and Jack Hobhs supply the romaritic intrest.
