London, June 16. The Daily Telegraph says that M'. LitvinofF, who' is a repr.ese.ntative of the Soviet at'the World Conference^ met Mr. Felix Cole, chairman bf Metropolitan Vickers' Company.V He refused even to consider the release of Messrs. Thornton and MacDonald, who are prisoners in Russia, having been convicted for alleged sabotage and espionage, until Britain has lifted the embargo on Russian goods. i M. Litvinoff added th'at'appeals in Russia are rarely heard before a year after conviction, six months being the earliest; He shw no reason to expedite procedure in'the case of Messrs. Thornton and MacDonald unless Britain facilitates it by lifting the embargo.
