STATION 1ZR
NEW LICENSE WILL BE ISSUED BY BEPT.
Aucklandj Thursday. A statement that the radio station 1ZR will be on the air again with a fresh license for the transmission of broadcasting programmes has been issued by the Postmaster General, Hon. A. Hamilton. He -states that sinee the station's license was cancelled, negotiations have taken place between him and the proprietors, Messrs Lewis Eady, Ltd. In reply to an inquiry from the proprietors as to the conditions under which- broadcasting could be resumed, the Minister intimated that a fresh license could be issued on the receipt of an assuranee that the conditions relative to the coneert programmes would be strictly complied* with in future. "Such an assuranee," said Mr. Hamilton, "has been received by me, and I have given permission to enahle the station to resume broadcasting." '
