THE OIL LEVEL

To exceed slightly the normal oil level in the sump will do no h'arm, but it is not necessary to overfill to any extent. The makers have determined what oil level is necessary, and if you follow their instructions wou should not go wrong. Overfilling leads to waste, as eonsiderabe quantities are thrown up into the cylinders and work their way past the cylinders into the combustion chamber. Here the oil is burnt, and it will cause trouble by fouling the plug points.
