no objection to civil servants being ' ' ' members ' Wellington, Tuesday. Interviewed to-day the Public Service Commissioner intimated that no action had been taken to preve'nt public servants from becoming members of the New Zealand Legion, and that he considered it would be im'possible to do so. The Commissioner stated further that no objection was raised to officers, as private citizens, " becoming members of any organisation, pol'itical or oth'erwise. 'What Was obje^d to was any member of the publie servfce talring an active part ih the organisation or administration of the hfew' Zealand Legion or other similar body.
