The Government meteoroloplat loeued the following weather report and forecast iost night: — General situation: There is little change in the pressure distribution except for movement of a slight low pressure was along the southern edge of an a'nti-cycione covering the Tasman and New Zealand. Forecast: Winds light to moderate, south-easterly, north of New Plymouth and Napier, elsewhere modeate, but freshening westerlyj backing later to southeriy. V/eather: For the most part fair to fine, stili some showers in the far north and north-east and southernmost districts. Cold 'night temperatures, early morning frosts. Following are the barometer,, maxlmum and minimum thermomster, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.0S5ins. Thermometer (max.) 52.7deg. Thermometer (min.) 31.8deg. Thermorr^eter (min. on grass) 24.4deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 2.6hrs.
