Gisborne, Thursday The steam trawler, Serfid, beIonging to Sandford's, of Auckland, whilst off Waipiro at 3 a.m. aprang a leafe. Captain Flett and nine men of the crew took to the dinghy and made for Open Bay, where they sav/ the lights of a launch named Huia, belonging to Mr. Brennan, who took them aboard and landed them at Tokomaru Bay at 9.15 p.m. The Serfid left Kicks Bay at 10 in the morning bound' for Tologa Bay. When last seen, she was drifting toward the East Cape and appeared to he doomed.
