Christchurch, Saturday. The weather was fine for the third and final test match between the Australian and New Zealand University Rugby teams, the. match being played before an attendance of 10,000 spectators.

New Zealand kicked off, bnt early play was in favour of the Australians, the backs throwing the ball about in great style. They could not drive the advantage home, however, and a brilliant passing rush in which all the New Zealand backs handled saw Milliken score for Bnsh to eonvert. With Uttley, Milliken again took play to the visitors' line, Caughey seoring for Bush to again add the points. The Australian backs were not seeing much of the ball and New Zealand received .another five points when Caughey .again scored for Rae to convert. With the New Zealand forwards feeding the backs cleverly Milliken bumped past Lawrie to score well out. Busb converted with a great kick. Shortly before halftime Australia took a turn at attack and from a fine cut-in by Rees, Macke.y crossed under tbe posts for Westfield to convert. New Zealand 20, Australia 5. The eleverness of the New Zealand backs again had the visitors in trouble early in the second spell and a good run by Uttley gave Caughey his third try. Bush converted from the sideline. Shortly afterwards Rae raeed over for New Zealand and Bush kicked his sixth goal. A good run by Fookes, Caughey, Milliken and Andrews saw the latter beat Westfield for the ball Rae converting. Good movements by Kennedy and Rees were marred by bad passing and Rae cleverly gave New Zealand another try which was scored by Dunne. Bush, this time, failed. Gaining possession brilliantly Dunne made a good run down the line and handed to Caughey who scored. The next score came almost immediately Dunne working the blind side to score on the corner. With a few minutes to go Lowndes intercepted and Rees sidestepped two men to enable Rowe to score for Australia. The kick failed and the game ended. v New Zealand 44, Australia 8.
