-By Telegraph — Convriaht).
Feilding, Thursday. • Intimidation, vandalism and loafing on the job, were charges made against a gang of relief workers at a meeting of the Feilding Unemploy- , ment Committee to-day, by Mr. Arch. : Oampbell, chairman of the Oroua Oounty Council. , The men had been allocated by the Feilding Borough Council for work in the Oroua county under the county engineer. Mr. Campbell said that the men had built huts for themselves and spent their time playing cards, mushrooming, e'tc. The leader of the gang was intimidated, and therefore, it was hard to sheet home the charges. Tools had been stolen and material smashed and made useless. The chairman of the committee, the mayor, Mr. C. E. Taylor, said it was a matter for the Oroua County to deal with. He promised that if the County Council stood the men down, the borough council would not employ them and they would not be eligible for relief work. The borough council had done this previously with recalcitrants.
