Subsidies to couples wishing to marry with a view to the removal of women from the labour market, was among the ieatures of a gigantic seheme authorised by Cabinet for the relief of unemployment. Exchequer bonds to the limit of £50,000,000 will be used to finance public works, land settlement, the construction of garden cities, reduction of farmers' mortgages and other projects.
