Jackson) advised the Borough Council last even- 1 ing that the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, had suggested that the council should procure some good specimens of trout and send them : home to be displayed in the various London clubs. His Excellency had off ered to assist in getting them plac- ' ed in suitable clubs. The mayof i heartily supported the suggestion, and ; I said that descriptive matter refeiring : to the attractions of the district: would also be supplied. He thougbt that it would react on the right class of people. The matter was referred I
to the Publicity and Amusemeut! Committee. The clerk mentioned that 1 the same suggestion had been made j four years ago and had been referred : to the Government. The Goveru- j ment, said the mayor was sendin^ | fish home, but was not teaching® j same class of people that this idts i would. Cr. Bayfeild said that he was ack ually sending fish home and was sending some to Toronto. 0r. Bayfeild advised that the couif-j cil should not send home toobigf fish or else those who came outmigiii; be disappointed.
