REP. RUGBY TEAM CHOSEN TO PLAY AGAINST OPOTIKI GOOD COMBINATION

Following are the results of Saturday's Rugby matches at Whakatane Seniors' Whakatane 19, Ruatoki S. 0. Paeroa 15, Poro Poro 10. Ruatoki N. 15, Taneatua 3. Juniors , High School 11, Taneatua 9. Whakatane 6, Ruatoki 3. Third Grade High' School 8, Ruatoki 5. Saturday's game between Whakatane and Ruatoki South was a com--fortable win for Whakatane although the score was large, some very spectacular play was witnessed from both teams. There were bright exchanges and the game was never devoid of interest. Scores were registered by the following players: Day, Waddrell (2), Oswald. Hollisf kicked a penalty and Stevens converted two trie§. The outstanding players for Whakatane were Waugh, Day, and Stevens in the forwards and Waddrell, Oswald and Stewart in the backs. Reps. Selected The following players have been selected to represent the Whakatane Rugby Union against Opotiki on Saturday, June 3. Backs: Moody, Oswald, Dodd, Merito, Trainer, Biddle, Pile. Forwards: Warren, J. Mate, Broderick, Harawera, K. Lawson, Cullimcre, Edwards and Day . Emergencies: J. Takurua and Bkhop. The selectors consider this team to be one of the best selected for some years and have every confidence that they will "give a good account of thcmselves.
