Dance A very pleasant evening was spent • on Friday, May 20, when the .committee of the A. and P. Assqciatiori "held its annual dance and 5Qb tour- • nament in the Winter Show pavilion i as a finale of the winter show. An energetic committee spent the whole day clearing the hall of the exhibits and tables froni the winter show, and : it was surprising to find the floor in such splendid condition for dancirig after the heavy attendance at the j show. Despite the heavy rain that fell during the day and evening 250 to 300 persons .were in attendance and pleasure was expressed at the ; spacious floor. Mr. Painton and his ! band are to be congratulated for the rendering of the dance music, which was the subject of favourable comment. The supper was under the capabie control of Mr. and Mrs. Kingon. The 500 tournament was ;won by Mr. and Mrs. E. Armer. Novelty dances were included in the programme and the control of this was in the capabie hands of Mr. W. Young and Mr. T. Lindsay as M.C.'s.

Dancing Competitions In order to comply with repeated •requests the management of "Dixie'land" has decided to commence on .Monday, 29, both waltzing and fox trot competitions. The heats will extend over a period of six nights on \Monday and Wednesday of each week and as good cash prizes are being of- , fered the events are certain of obtaining the enthusiastic support of the dancing public.
