REGULAR MEETING OF PAERATA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.

In spite of the bad weather there ■ was a good attendance of the Paerata Ridge Women's Institute at the horne of the president, Mrs. S. Hill on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting opened with the reading of the Women's Creed after which a tribute to the memory of the late meinber, Mrs. Megaw, who passed away recently, was paid by members observing a minute's silence. After the general business, the Roll Call, "My Best Joke" filled the room with laughter. Mrs. Hunt was proposed to fill a vacancy on the committee. Mrs. J. Jennings gave a helpful demonstration on the re-footing of a sto.ekiing. An amusing competition, peeling ipotatoes blindfolded was won by Mrs. Hunt. The members then gave an instruetive demonstration of needlework stitching of every kind which were much appreciated. "God Save the King" concluded a pleasant afternoon.
