Geneya, May 24. There was something in the nature of a sensation at a meeting of the opium commission when the Chinese delegate, Mr. Victor Hoo, promised an immediate inquiry into the illicit aspects of the drug factories in China, with a view to eradicating the manu- . facture of o'pium and its derivatives and later to evolve a plan to suppress poppy cultivation and the manufacture of drugs.
