Imperial Challenge Shield The National Rifle Association has published the detailed; results of the Imperial Challenge Shield competition for 1932. Of the 41,346 competing throughout the Empire, NeAV Zealand entered 10,820 this number being exceeded only by Canada and South Africa. Canada led the Empire with

an average per boy of 85 points, New • Zealand being fourth with 68 points average. The Senior Shield went to the Royal Marine Volunteer Gadet Corps, Deal, with' an average score of 96.8* points, whlile thje Junior Shield goes t0 Woodbridge Public School Gadet Corps, Ont., Canada, with a score of 98.1. Three New Zealand teams gained places on the honours list of the best 100 Empire units as follows: 37th place, St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, with an average of 89 points, '82nd place Rotorua High School Cadets (83 points) and 98th' place Wanganui Collegiate School (80 points). This result is considered decidedly credifiable to the Rotorua High School in view of the membership of the team (150) being exceeded only by 14 others and also by the fact that 5 open sights were used whereas mdst umits use aperture sights.
