BASKETBALL DANCE

CONVENT HOLD FUNCTION ON WEDNESDAY EVENING Much enthusiasm has been shown by tbe Convent Basketball Club. On Wednesday evenfing a well-attended .and very successful function of cards and dancing to raise funds for the club -was organised. Two chocolate dances were won by Miss D. Anderson and Mr. T. Anderson, Miss M. Parkinson and Mr. D. Ab'bott. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss O. Withers and Mr. A. Mokomoko. The winners of the cards were Mr. T. Lammas and Mrs. T. Kelly, while oonsolation prizes were awarded Mrs. A. Clark and Mr. B. Hennessey. Among those present were- Mesdames D. Hickey, Burnett, A. Clark, J. Merry, T. Shalfoon, G. Allen, Butler, Voss, Stavely, Newton, C. Snell, J. Kelly, Mihaka, Smith, T. 0' Sullivan. Misses I. Hennessey, N. Hickey, H. Cresswell, P. Blundell, V. Merry, C. Hennessey, M. Day, E. Johnstone, K.
