GRANGE BLOSSOMS HARTWELL — SHEPHERD

Taneatua, W'ednesday. Taneatua Presbyterian Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday morning when Irene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bhepherd, was married to Claude, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hartwell, Wanganui. The Rev. Butterworth perfornied the ceremony. The bride looked charming in a gown of white crepe satin with cape and a beautifully embroidered tulle veil which formed a train. She carried' a sheaf of roses, chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Muriel Shepherd (sister of the blide) and Miss Doris McGougan (cousin of the bride( both wore picturesque gowns of blush pink ring-velvet with capes to match' edged with white fur, and felt hats with pink bows to tone, carrying .bouquets of pink and white fern. The flower girls, Betty Shepherd and Noel McGougan, were very sweet in white crepe de chine ankle length frocks with white scalloped capes and carried baskets of fLowers to tone. Mr. J. Hartwell, brother of the bridegroom was best mafi, and Mr. D. Gordon, of Te Kuiti groomsman. After the ceremony the reception was held at the bnide's home in a marquee beautifu'lly decorated in white and pink streamers and balloons. Mrs. W. Shepherd, another of the bride, wore a black wool . pike frock trimmed with' marocain with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of red chrysanthemums. Mrs. W. Hartwell, mother of the bridegroom wore brown crepe cerise and smart brown hat to tone and carried a bouquet of golden tinted flowers. The nride's igoing away frock was brown diagonal tweed, trimmed with orange alfglane with a beautifully cut coat and hat to tone. Among the guests present were: Mrs. Turner (Wellington), Mrs. G. Munro (Auckland), Mrs. McGougan (Snr.), Mr and Mrs. A. McGougan, Mr. and Mrs. H. McGougan, Mr. and Mrs. T. McGougan, Mr. and Mrs. N.
