TO-DAY SEES OPENING OF NEW COURSE IN QUEENSLAND MOST PICTURESQUE

Rec. May 19, 9.50 p.m. Brisbane, May 19. The long awaited openmg of the Brisbane Amateur Turf Club's nev/ racecourse at Doomben takes place to-morrow. It is regarded as the most pieturesque course in Australia, with three stands and the most modern appointments. People will be able from the stands to ofytaiii a continuous clear view of th'e straiglit. The main event of the programme 'is described as the Doomben Newmarket, in which 19 horses are engaged, including Closing Time (N.Z.) and Lady Linden. The latter was the winner of the 1932 Vietorian Newmarket.
