TO-NIGHT. George Barraud, the English stage •jand screen star of international fame, plays the lead in "Women Who Play," the film version of Frederick Lonsdale's witty and daringi stage success, ' "Spring Cleaning," now at the Majes- i tic Theatre. In "Women Who Play" George Barraud plays the part of a famous author who is in dianger of having his home wrecked by his wif e's worthless friends. His daring aiid original method of "Spring Cleaninjgf' his house forms one of the most fascinating plots yet invented. The part is not a new one to George Barraud who made a great success in the same play in Australia on the stage. His leading lady was Pauline Frederick. He has played opposite Pauline Frederick in many other plays but it is generally acknowledged by critics that his performance in "Spring Cleaning," has never been surpassed. x In the Paramount British film of the play, George Barraud is supported by an all-star cast of stage and screen stars. These include: — Benita Hume, Joan Barry, Maiy Newcomb and Barry Jones. The picture was directed by Arthur Rosson, who also directed "Service for Ladies."
