UPWARD MOVEMENT SEEMS LIK&LY TO REMAIN PERMANENT ALL ROUND ADVANCE
-By Telegraph — Copyright).
London, May 15. Dlscussing the rise in commodity prices the Evening Standard says: "The present upward move'ment possesses elements of permanence to a greater degree than any of the spasmodic rallies which oh several occasions d'uring the late slump gave rise to hopes that the tide was on the turn. "The rise now taking place commenced several weeks ago and is of >a more general character than any previous spurts in the last two years. ' "It -is built upon firmer foundations, namely, falling production, increasing consumption, and the iri/flationary measures adopted in America, including the devaluation of the dollar, the increase in purchasing 'power, providing the necessary stimulus for world recovery."
