WOMAN'S ESCAPE FROM FIRE
Christchurch, Monday. A five-roomed house at Marshland, ' .owned by Mr. Ernest Crozier, was de- , stroyed by fire at 11 p.m. yesterday. ' (The only occupant, Mrs. M. Crozier . .'(74) the mother of the owner, had 'difficulty in making her escape. She (was crawling out on her hands and lknees when a boy, named Jackson, 'living in a whare nearby, noticed her Vplight and went to her assistanee. The } fire is believed to be of incendiary 1 origin ■ as a suspicious fire occurred the previous Sunday on the, same farm destroying a cowshed, garage [ and haystack. The owner was absent at the time.
