BOWLING CLUB

Members of the Opotiki Bowling Club held a very enjoyable bridge 'evening in the Farmers' Social Rooms on Thursday evening at which the president, Mr. W. J. Scott, presented the trophies for the season, the winners being: Singles' champ'ionshipi, Dr. E. Candy, pairs ch'ampionship, W. Burrett and W. D. Downs. The winners of the ciard 'evening were Mr. H. Ptowlands and Mrs. C. J. Fox. The l'adies of the club p'rovided the refreshments. No Luck for the Agent The shooting season in the Opotiki ' district appears to have been particularly good judging from the number of birds being sent away to friends. Ono service car agency reports that l 70 brace of ducks and 20 brace of ' pheasants have passed through their hands to date, but as the agent remarked, "none of them were address'ed to me unfortunately."
