HERR ROSENBERG JUSTIFIES NAZI BEHAVIOUR AND METHODS MORE KILLIN GS IN CHICAGO
— By Telegraph— Copyright).
Rec. May 12, 7.15 p.m. London, May 12. Herr Rosenberg issued a statement t that Germany's strong measures against Communists saved Central ;Europe and prevented the destruction of western civilisation. May Day was actually a peaceful festival, showing that the upheaval did not involve guillotining thousands, but represented the people's uprising. The discipline exhibited was • all the more remarkable because Hitilerism had lost 300 killed and 26,000 Iwounded in 10 years of Marxist outrages. Nazi excesses were insignifxcant in view of the scale of the revolution. Germany wished for no re-arming of the world and hoped for a growing Anglo-German understanding. ,Herr Rosenberg subsequently informjed the press that he was unable to say whether Mr. MacDonald and Mr. Baldwin refused to see him. There iwas no time to see them because the official visits were over. He had ascertained clearly what the people thought, but there were no average feelings either way. The persecution of Jews was nothing to compare with what the Nazis had 'undergone for 14 years. He himself had faced former Government bullets and had been imprisoned. Only five Jews were beaten. More killings occurred in Chicago than in Germany.
