■i ■ The Government meteorolorilst lasued the foliowing weather report and forecast test nijht: — General situation: A moderate anticyclone is now advancing across the Tasman, while pressure is falli'ng in eastern Australia Forecast: Winds south-westerly, moderate to strong, but decreasing and later tending westerly in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Some scattered showers at first in the far north and south, otherwise mainly fine during the week-e'nd. Temperatures cold and many frosts to-night, but milder tomorrow. A renewal of unsettled conditions iikely on the west coast by Monday. Foliowing are the barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall rea'dings recorded at the Government Observation Sta« tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.791ins. Thermometer (max.) 56.4deg. Thermometer (min.) 33.6dpg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 25.5deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine .... 6.8hrs.
