PRICES AT WESTFIELD SHOW FIRMING TENDENCY
Auckland, W ednes'^ay. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, reports. — At to-day's sale at Westfield beef was penned in less than last week's numbers. Although quotations were the same a,s then, there was a firming tendency. Extra choice ox sold at 19s per 1001b., choice and prime 16s to 18s, secondary and plain 13s to 17s, prime young cow and heifer beef 14s to 17s, secondary 9s to 13s. Heavy prime steers ranged in priee from £7 to £7 17s 6d; lighter, £5 17s 6d to £6 17s 6d. liight £4 15 s to £5 15s, small and unfinished £2 17s 6d to £4 10s, heavy prime young cows -and heifers £3 17s 6d to £4 10s, lighter £3 to £3 15s, light £2 to £2 17s 6d, others 20s to 37s 6d.
