It was stated in Auckland yesterday that this decision means that the Auckland and Christchurch Training Colleges, the only ones now remain'ing open, will close at the end of this year, and tha seeond and thirdyear students now at the colleges will be used in, the rationing scheme for teachers. What provision will be made , to the first-year students, of whom j there are a few, is unknown. I It is likely that the staffs of the colleges will be used fpr inspectorial and refresher course duties.
