r EXECUTIVE MEETING MAKES ARRANGEMENTS FOR RACING NO COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS Further steps in the arrangements I for the Rotorua Trotting Club's in- ! augural meeting on May 20 were made at an executive meeting last evening when Mr. L. C. Ryan preisided over a large attendance. The nonhnations were app'roved and were considered most satisfactory. The acceptance of the position of judge by Mr. E. Y. Sutherland, vice Mr. A. Tronson who is unable to attend was notified and the club decided to express its thanks to him for the offer. Mr. C. Griffiths in charge of the gates propounded a plan whereby 1 these could be run most economically. ^This was approved by the meeting. A small charge is to be made for the railed off portion of the grandstand except to members and their wives land the usual cloakroom facilities are to be made available. Wrong Horse Mentioned The meeting decided to refute an incorrect statement that had appear- : ed in an Auckland paper that an ex- ' hibition of pacing was to be given by Pegaway -when as a matter of fact ■Enawah, Mr. Wilfred Johnstone's treble winner at Cambridge is to give j I the exhibition. ■ 1 The committee decided to apply for , ' a late train on Saturday evening for i Frankton and to instruct the secretary that no complimentary tickets were to be issued to any person resid'ing within twenty miles of Rotorua. Mr. R. P. Spedding was appointed armband steward vice Mr. J. H. Greenhead, who will be absent and ; Messrs C. S. Dalgleish, E. A. Meredith, C. Phipps and D. Cambie starters' stewards. ; The track committee, consisting of the president, Messrs F. Goodspn and \F. S. Boyes were given power to put the necessary work in hand to condi- ' tion the track and the matter of , catering and privileges was left to the emergency committee. Mr. C. j Goodson was appointed stabling stewf ard. A number of other routine matters in connection with the running of the meeting were attended to or left to committees with power to act.
