BATHED THE BABIES
THE NAVAL TRAINEES Rec. May 10, 9.40 p.m. Sydney, May 10. The passengers on the Maunganui sare loud in their praise for the assistiance rendered by 20 naval ratings of tho ships, Diomede, Dunedin and Philomel, who are en route to Flinders Island naval base to undergo jtraining. ■One rating bathed six babies whose Jparents were too ill to perform the task. Four ratings volunteered to assist at the tables and in the gallery. When one went down to sea sickness, 'another would volunteer. An unemployed pressman remark■ed on arrival: "It takes a newspaper [ man to make a really smart steward."
